In honor of the holiday, today's line up of songs all have the word "moon" in the title. I hope everyone has a great Mid-Autumn Festival. Here's a little something from me to listen to while you drink wine and eat mooncakes under the roundest moon of the year.

中秋节快乐! :)

title: 彩云追月 ["Cai Yun Zhui Yue" - "Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon"]
artist: 爱戴 AKA Edell Ai
genre: cpop
comments: I love this cover to bits! I mean, I've always loved this song as it is very very pretty, but in a cappella form with gorgeous gorgeous harmonies? Watch me swoon with happiness. Seriously. It's just that good. I have no other words to say. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
DOWNLOAD!

title:
月半弯 ["Yue Ban Wan" - "Curved Half Moon"]
artist: 陈坤 AKA Aloys Chen
genre: cpop
comments: Pretty much your generic pop ballad, but with really really pretty vocals. The first time I heard this song, I couldn't help, but put it on repeat for several days. Although I tend to be skeptical about actors-turned-singers, Chen Kun has a really smooth, mellow-ish voice that really suits this song. Plus, it also helps that the chorus is catchy with fairly simple lyrics, so it's really easy to sing along with him.
DOWNLOAD!

title: 月亮代表我的心 ["Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo de Xin" - "The Moon Represents My Heart"]
artist: 邓丽君 AKA Teresa Teng
genre: cpop
comments: Anyone who has grown up in a Chinese household probably knows of Teresa Teng. In many ways, Teresa Teng can be considered as the creator of modern Chinese pop and her music is incredibly well-known throughout Asia. This particular song is arguably her most famous song and has been covered multiple times by many different artists. Like most of her music, the theme is simple, but very pretty, with very soft, sweet, almost breathy vocals. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
DOWNLOAD!

title: 白月光 ["Bai Yue Guang" - "White Moonlight"]
artist: 张信哲 AKA Jeff Chang
genre: cpop
comments: The first time I heard this song, I heard it as a really kick-ass R&B cover on a Chinese singing competition and I loved it. The original version's slower and very ballad-esque, but no less beautiful. The melody is slightly melancholy and the lyrics are outright depressing, but Jeff Chang's vocals are as glorious as ever and the simple piano and cello accompaniment are just right for the song. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
DOWNLOAD!

title: 月圆花好 ["Yue Yuan Hua Hao" - "Full Moon and Blooming Flowers"]
artist: 乔维怡 AKA Qiao Wei Yi
genre: cpop
comments: Speak of the devil! The cover of the above Jeff Chang song that I heard was sung by Qiao Wei Yi, and here she is with another kickass cover of a classic Chinese ballad. During the competition, I remember one of the judges saying that her voice is like a light wind on a dark star-studded night, and this song just... really showcases it well. Her voice is smooth and light, and when it first comes in, it kind of sends a chill down my spine. Really really good stuff. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
DOWNLOAD!

title: 城里的月光 ["Cheng Li de Yue Guang" - "The Moonlight in Town"]
artist: 许美静 AKA Mavis Hee
genre: cpop
comments: To be completely honest, I'm not very familiar with Mavis Hee, but from what I can tell, she has a very nice, soft voice that goes well with this slow ballad. I've heard several faster, livelier renditions of this song, but the original takes a slower, more tender spin on things, and I think I like it. Give it a try, maybe you'll like it too. :)
DOWNLOAD!

title: 弯弯的月亮 ["Wan Wan de Yue Liang" - "The Curved Moon"]
artist: 刘欢 AKA Liu Huan
genre: cpop
comments: One of my favorite classic Chinese ballads ever, no joke. I'm not a huge fan of Liu Huan, but he has some really kickass songs, and seriously? The guy can sing, and it's really cool to watch him sing live 'cause he really gets so emotionally into each song. So, strong vocals aside, the song itself is just really well written and I love the sounds of running water and the tinkly accompanent. It's just one of those really pretty songs that you may have heard in a Chinese restaurant before. Good stuff, good stuff.
DOWNLOAD!

title: 月光 ["Yue Guang" - "Moonlight"]
artist: 王心凌 AKA Cyndi Wang
genre: cpop
comments: Although I haven't been a fan of Cyndi Wang for a good couple of years [she has some good stuff, but after a while, all of her music starts sounding the same], Yue Guang will always be one of my favorite songs by her. Like most of her songs, it's very cute, mellow and happy, with a gentle accompaniment of guitar and soft, gentle vocals. Overall, a very soothing "cute" song; I like~
DOWNLOAD!

title: 舞月光 ["Wu Yue Guang" - "Moonlight of Dance"]
artist: 伍思凯 AKA Sky Wu
genre: cpop
comments: Hello, addictive catchy song. And it really is, too, what with all the crazy instrumentals and a strong unwavering beat. I don't know much about Sky Wu as a singer, but I like his vocals well enough [his voice is very mellow, but with an edge]. The song itself sounds distinctly Spanish, but with a bit of oriental flavoring added in. Although I don't find Wu Yue Guang outstanding, I do enjoy listening to it very much and I really don't have much to say beyond that.

It's been a while since my last post, sorry about that, but here we are with ten lovely Chinese songs to make up with the recent dearth in CPOP.

Don't forget to comment with what you download and enjoy the music~

title:
 桃花朵朵开
("Tao Hua Duo Duo Kai" - "Peach Blossoms Bloom One By One")
artist:
阿牛
AKA Ah Niu
genre: cpop
comments: This song is so peppy and cute! Some might consider it simple and repetitive, but I find it incredibly catchy and just fun all around. I particularly like the traditional Chinese instruments and Ah Niu's voice - it's so soft and smooth~ Also, for those interested, the music video is HILARIOUS too. :)

title:
红豆 ("Hong Dou" - "Red Bean")
artist:
王菲
AKA Faye Wong
genre: cpop
comments: What can I say... I love Faye Wong to bits and pieces, so it kind of goes without saying that I love this song! Among others, of course, but this one's definitely one of my favorites. Faye Wong has such amazing control of her voice and this ballad really suits her. Lovely, lovely, lovely. Highly Recommended!

title:
一个人回家 ("Yi Ge Ren Hui Jia" - "Going Home Alone")
artist:
巩贺
AKA Gong He
genre: cpop
comments: One of my favorite contestants from the 2006
超级女声
["super female voice"] competition, Gong He has a gorgeously smooth voice that doesn't receive nearly as much recognition as it deserves. Her rich sound is unique [especially in this day and era of mellow-ish CPOP voices] and this particular ballad showcases her voice incredibly well.

title:
解脱 ("Jie Tuo" - "Freedom")
artist:
李玖哲
AKA Nicky Lee
genre: cpop
comments: Nicky Lee is such an amazing singer and composer! Even though his Chinese carries a slight accent, it doesn't matter 'cause the song's so pretty and everything flows so nicely together. A distinctly kpop-ish song, but in Chinese. Yeah, I don't know either, but it's very good.

download!

title:
心悸 ("Xin Ji" - "Palpitation")
artist:
刘亦菲
AKA Crystal Liu
genre: cpop
comments: I'm not entirely sure I like Crystal Liu as an actress and I tend to be skeptical about actor-turned-singers, but this song is so. Freaking. Catchy. No joke. Crystal Liu's voice isn't all that impressive, but this song is just so addictive that I can disregard the average vocals.
>>>
download!

title: 灰色空间 ("Hui Se Kong Jian" - "Gray Space")
artist: 罗志祥 AKA Alan/Show Luo
genre: cpop
comments: My favorite song by 小猪 ("xiao zhu" - "little pig"; Show's nickname], hands down. Subtly melancholy with gorgeous instrumentals and smooth, expressive vocals, the melody is simple, but powerful. The first time I heard it, I literally couldn't stop listening to it repeatedly; it's just that good. Lovely song, lovely [angsty and depressing, actually; it makes me want to hug 小猪 so badly ;~;] music video, lovely all around. Highly Recommended!
>>>download!

title:
大舌头 ("Da She Tou" - "Big Tongue")
artist:
吴克群
AKA Kenji Wu
genre: cpop
comments: This song is so dorky and cute, I don't know what to say. It's just one of those songs that you have to hear at least once. "Da She Tou" literally means "Big Tongue" in Chinese, but it actually refers to the inability to enunciate clearly (that is, stuttering or slurring of words). The song itself is about a boy who has problems telling his girlfriend he loves her because he always ends up stuttering. I'm not a huge fan of Kenji Wu, but this song's just too cute to pass up; the music video's super cute as well! :)
>>>
download!

title:
菠萝菠萝蜜 ("Bo Luo Bo Luo Mi" - "Pineapple Pineapple Sweet")
artist:
谢娜
AKA Xie Na
genre: cpop
comments: Another really really dorky song that borders on dumb. Seriously. This song manages to be silly and catchy all at once. As the infamously rambunctious show hostess of Happy Citadel, Xie Na is known for being loud and shameless, but despite her spastic slightly-on-crack personality (see the music video for proof), she has surprisingly soft vocals that work very well with this bouncy song.
>>>
download!

title:
北京一夜 ("Bei Jing Yi Ye" - "One Night In Beijing")
artist:
信乐团
AKA SH!N
genre: crock [hahaha, what.]
comments: SH!N actually disbanded this past March, but there is no denying their musical influence in Chinese music. Although the SH!N hasn't produced a new album in ages, their songs remain in the top 20 most downloaded songs on Baidu.Com. Just... really good stuff. This particular song, although not incredibly rock-ish, is very catchy and remains one of the most unique songs SH!N has produced to date. As SH!N's frontman, A Xin has incredibly versatile vocals which are demonstrated here as he traverses the line of traditional Chinese opera. Highly Recommended!
>>>
download!

title:
坠落天使 ("Zhui Luo Tian Shi" - "Fallen Angel")
artist: 徐怀钰
AKA Yuki Hsu

genre: cpop
comments: Hello, catchy song. And I mean catchy too! It reminds me a lot of Kangta and Vanness's Scandal, what with the bass and r&b-ish undertones, but it's different. And even though some of the rap bits make me laugh a bit, overall, the song really makes me want to get up and bob along with the beat.

Hillo ♥ So I'm Lille, the resident wannabe-fob twinkie =) (ie. whitewashed Chinese who wishes she was more Asian-y); as such my playlist usually consists of an odd mixmash of Chinese & English song and a Japanese or Korean tune thrown in here and there. My preference usually lies in addictive pop tunes & I covert duets and remixes madly ♥.

All my songs are uploaded onto zshare so you can preview the song before downloading and zshare seems to last pretty long (yay ♥). Albums however are uploaded onto sendfile or savefile. I hate megaupload so dont expect anything from there unless its a REALLY big file.

The way I'm setting my part up is: every Sunday I will upload 7 songs from 7 different artists; or at least 7 different albums. For members: you will get a poll on Mondays in which you can vote for top 5 albums you want me to upload throughout the week. (As in I give you 7 options, and votes determine the top 5, which I will upload one per day)

Anyways. Nuff talk. ONTO THE MUSIC ♥ Happy listening~

1.Lian Ai Da Ren – Alan (Show) Luo ft. Xiao S.
One of the few Chinese songs that I can actually sing almost every word too! The song is upbeat and catchy, but the words are not sung too fast (except for the cute little rap in the middle but even that is management if you listen to it a lot….which I do ^^) so the lyrics are pretty easy to learn and sing along to and trust me, you’ll enjoy singing along. And the random English is actually like almost entirely grammatically correct!!! Which means no bling bling bonging but Show’s voice <3 it just flows so gorgeous over you. The lyrics are also pretty cute; from what I understand it seems to be about a girl and guy who like each other but bicker and try to con each other into saying they like the other one first, sort of cat and mouse game. The girl also gets to call Show a pig hahahaha.

2.Zhen Ming Tian Zhi – Alan (Show) Luo ft. Jolin Tsai
Otherwise known as the “Shake it” song. Its got an addictive dance beat and I don’t know about you but I just flail with love every time Show tells me to shake it. *GUH* And there’s enough English in the song that you can totally pretend to know what’s going on. And the music video is awesome if nothing else for their dance moves; once you’ve seen it, you’ll want to copy it and shake it too. Now if only I could find a guy to be my Show…

3.爱的主旋律- Xiao Gui & Genie Zhou
A very pretty ballad, the melody just floats over you and the temptation to hold up your cell phone and sway to the music is almost overpowering. Genie’s voice is so lilting, and soft and Xiao Gui is a perfect accompaniment. Not too deep or loud and it compliments rather than overpowers the female voice.

4.只對你有感覺(Remix) – Fahrenheit ft. Hebe (from S.H.E)
“I only have eyes for you,” is probably one of the most popular songs from new Chinese boy band Fahrenheit, featuring the ever beautiful always demure Hebe from the, hands down most popular, girl group from Taiwan S.H.E. The techno-ish beat is catchy and upbeat and ridiculously cute and before you know it you’ll be singing along- or rather, attempting to sing along or just make up random words that kinda sound like what they’re saying because man the song goes fast! It’s the sort of song I have the ridiculous urge to jump up and down too and never fails to put me in a good (and hyper) mood.

5.Wannabe – Spice Girls
I figured what with their reunion concert, my very first post on my very first music rotation blog should be the very first Spice Girl song, the song that started the entire craze, and my love for music, and besides, what defines addictive pop and the good old days better than Spice Girls?! Come on guys, who didn’t want to be a spice girl?! & I remember when everybody knew the lyrics and dance to this song. Heck, I remember performing it at my elementary school talent show! Ps. I was Posh Spice =) lol.

6.One in a Million – Hannah Montana
Yes I know I am making you listen tween pop. But dangit I really like Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus!!! *dodgesbricks* Hear me out! She’s only 14, has two seasons of a hit TV show under her belt, an European tour and several albums under her belt. You got to admire having done all that at such a young age. So talented, so driven, and has got such an adorable personality. Why was I not that amazing at 14?!!! The opening of the song is absolutely gorgeous. I was hooked the second she started singing. I love the piano opening and her voice has got this sweet yet throaty quality. And you all know you want that sort of romance she’s singing about.

7. Kids in America (Remix) – Cascada
I first heard this song way back in the day, elementary or early middle school would be my guess. The song was on the Digimon Soundtrack and boy do I ever love Digimon <3 & when I saw Cascada did a remix of it and I flailed a lot. Like a crazy lot. This song makes me nostalgic for my childhood- or rather my preteen hood <3 (Why yes I would like to go back to being 12 forever why do you ask =D)

First post for this lovely new community! Hello, my name is Louise [suxing] and I am the resident Chinese music enthusiast, so you can expect most of my rotations to be CPOP/ROCK-oriented.

Please read the rules carefully before downloading and comment if you take anything. That said, enjoy the music~

title: 杀手 ("Sha Shou" - "The Killer")
artist: JJ林俊杰
genre: cpop
comments: Although the music video got a mixed reception, 杀手 is undoubtedly one of JJ's best compositions. Like many of his songs, there is the ever present piano which weaves throughout the hauntingly beautiful melody. I personally love this song and I really like the idea of JJ exploring the darker side of life with his music. Highly Recommended!
>>>download!

title: 宁夏 ("Ning Xia" - "Peaceful Summer")
artist: 梁静茹 AKA Fish Leong
genre: cpop
comments: This song is so cute! It's very characteristic of Fish's songs - not too fast, not too slow, very simple, melodically, but very pleasant to listen to. It's not my favorite song by Fish Leong, but it's very easy on the ears and very reminiscent of summer.
>>>download!

title: 花田错 ("Hua Tian Cuo" - "Flower Field Mistake")
artist: 王力厷 AKA Wang Leehom
genre: cpop
comments: The first time I heard this song was on a Chinese singing competition and I couldn't get the chorus out of my head for weeks. A year later, I still love it, even though it probably isn't considered one of Leehom's best works. Regardless, it's a very catchy composition, mixing traditional Chinese instruments in with a little bit of R&B-ish flair.
>>>download!

title: 不可思议 ("Bu Ke Si Yi" - "Unbelievable"/"Incredible")
artist: 金沙 AKA Kym
genre: cpop
comments: Kym is so overlooked! It's ridiculous! She has more than what it takes to be wildly popular - a very nice voice, great singing ability and talent, a pretty face - yet very few people seem to know her. As for this song, it's tinkly, pop-y, and cute, and that's really all I can say. It's a very pretty song that really deserves a chance.
>>>download!

title: 过火 ("Guo Huo" - "Go Too Far")
artist: 张信哲 AKA Jeff Chang
genre: cpop
comments: More obscure artists! :( Well, not really. Jeff Chang's actually very well known back in the motherland, but he's more often than not obscured by big names like Jay Chou and David Tao. Known as the "Prince of Love Songs," he has a very expressive voice which is well showcased in this song. The song it self is very pretty and melodic with very lovely instrumentals.
>>>download!

title: 遇见 ("Yu Jian" - "To Meet")
artist: 孙燕姿 AKA Stephanie Sun
genre: cpop
comments: Another simple, but terribly pretty ballad with piano and acoustic guitar. Normally, I try to steer clear of extremely mainstream singers, but this song made me change my mind and give Stephanie Sun a chance. This song is so simple, but it's so touching. The music video's gorgeous too, definitely one of my all-time favorites. Highly Recommended!
>>>download!

title: 妹妹 ("Mei Mei" - "Little Sister")
artist: 方大同 AKA Khalil Fong
genre: chinese r&b?
comments: This song is so addictive! I don't even know why. Something about it is just terribly catchy and makes me want to bob my head along with the music. Nothing more to say, really. It's kind of bouncy, but mostly laid-back, and just fun to listen to.
>>>download!

title: 悲伤的秋千 ("Bei Shang de Qiu Qian" - "Sad Swing")
artist: 金海心 AKA Rebecca Jin
genre: cpop
comments: More obscure singers, hooray! Rebecca's voice is actually very similar to Faye Wong's voice and it surprises me that Rebecca Jin, much like Kym, isn't that popular internationally. Her voice is very pretty, very easy on the ears, and this particular song is very catchy, especially during the chorus.
>>>download!

title: 快乐崇拜 ("Kuai Le Chong Bai" - "Happy Worship")
artist: 潘玮柏 AKA Wilbur Pan feat. 张韶涵 AKA Angela Chang
genre: cpop
comments: This. Song. Is. So. Freaking. Catchy. I don't usually listen to rap (there are exceptions, but even then, they are far and few in-between), but this song! God, I don't even know. It's just so incredibly happy and bouncy and PEPPY, I can't help but bob my head along. Highly Recommended!
>>>download!

title: 一眼万年 ("Yi Yan Wan Nian" - "One Look, Ten Thousand Years")
artist: S.H.E
genre: cpop
comments: One of my favorite S.H.E songs. Evar. Based on the Chinese Valentine's Day myth, 牛郎织女 ["niu lang zhi nu" - "cowherd and weaving girl"], which you can read about here. I just... love the story, love the song, love the music video, love the tragedy, the angst... so gorgeous! That's all I can say, really. Written by JJ Lin, sung by S.H.E. Nothing more to say. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Highly Recommended!
